We have had quite a journey along the healthy living path. My husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 10 years ago at the age of 30 and it had a massive impact on every aspect of our life. We were still living in England at the time. I was studying for my BSc in zoology. After seeing the effects the so called medicine that he had been prescribed were having on him, we decided we had to do something. I did some research over the next few weeks and long story short we went vegan. Meat eater to vegan overnight. Within 3 months most of his symptoms had drastically improved and he was able to come off his walking aids and ALL OF HIS MEDICATION!! He also weighed 115kg due to poor diet and the medication. He started exercising as his heath improved.
Along the way we constantly strive to improve our diet and thus our quality of life. We now eat a wholefood organic plant based diet and I am a big believer in the power of plants, and of course mushrooms. We use medicinal mushrooms daily, ensure we have a dose of Tumeric, ginger and other adaptogenic/super foods each day. Not to mention green tea and hibiscus. I can not imagine what state my husbands health would be in if we hadn't have made the changes we did. You are most certainly what you eat.
Over the years we have had many jobs and ran our own business a few times, always trying to promote healthy eating and using my husbands journey, our journey to inspire others to make changes for themselves, for their loved ones, and for the planet!
